The Greater Baltimore Medical Center is a 300-bed acute care community hospital serving residents of Baltimore and Harford Counties, Baltimore City, Carroll and Howard Counties and southern Pennsylvania. There are 2,512 employees on staff, including 1,214 physicians and more than 700 nurses. An additional 765 people volunteer at the Medical Center. In one recent year, 61,426 patients visited the emergency room. More than 134,000 patients received outpatient treatment at the hospital and another 25,817 were admitted.
