Kernan Orthopedics and Rehabilitation is a 137-bed orthopedic and rehabilitative facility serving residents of Baltimore, the state of Maryland and beyond. Kernan is the largest Maryland rehabilitation hospital, both in terms of inpatient surgeries and outpatient treatment. In one recent year, the hospital treated 83,565 patients, and 3,358 patients were admitted.
Kernan is the only hospital in the nation that has been accredited by the Commission of Accreditation on Rehabilitation Facility for the following programs: Brain Injury, Spinal Cord System of Care, Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation and Stroke Specialty.
Specialty programs at Kernan include Ambulatory Services, Anesthesia Services, Center for Integrated Medicine, Dental Services, Orthopedics, Outpatient Therapies, Pain Management Center, Plastic Surgery, Rehabilitation, Rheumatology and Urology.
